There are a lot of Scottish names to love. From the traditional Scots words, to traditional Scottish accents, Scots people love to name their children to one of their ancestral names. The Scottish Gaelic language is known for it’s beautiful poetic language so we thought it best to show how a lot of our favorite Scottish words were influenced by the British English.
We asked several Scots to tell us a bit about their ancestral origins or a Scottish name was influenced by English, the most common explanation was that the name came from the Gaelic word for ‘earth’ and then the English added to it.
Many people love to add their favorite Scottish language to their children’s name! This year alone, we will see more Scottish accents, or Scottish names given to celebrities! However, that isn’t all. The fact that Scottish names and Scottish accents are easy to incorporate into the general English language means that Scottish people love to use them.
